Since ADOBE has banned all 3D functions from Photoshop, it’s no longer possible to create 3D maps with our plugins in newer Photoshop versions.
In search for alternative apps, Blender was the first choice. Blender is an open source 3D graphics suite with the promise to be free forever. What? Incredible!
But, on one hand, there’s also the fact that Blender can be overwhelming and daunting for new users at first. No shortcut, no functions that reminds of the common 2D workspace. On the other hand, the results that can be achieved with Blender are overwhelming as well and not comparable to Photoshop.
So to make it easier for you to get started in this new world, we have created a small add-on, that will help you to create great renders and animations of your maps with just a few clicks.
The add-on can only process glTF / GLB maps from 3D-Mapper.com. Optionally, the maps can also be imported without markers and labels.
There are 4 different light sets available: Default (three-point lighting), Sunrise, Afternoon und Sunset. All sets are fully editable.
With just a few clicks you can also change the color of the ground plane and the absolute background (only visible at default lightning).
Creates a rotation loop. In that process the camera rotates 360° around the map. The loop can be rendered as a video.
A simple tilt-shift effect that focuses on the center of the surface mesh. The intensity is editable.
Cycles Render preset. The rendering can be made optionally with ground plane and background as well as transparent.
All 16 elements are fully editable and the color can be changed.
Also the text of the labels can easily be customized.
